IRONMAN LANZAROTE, 19. MAJ 2007
Med 1078 triatleti je nastopilo tudi pet Slovencev. V izredno težkih vremenskih pogojih, kjer so morali triatlonci premagati 3,8km nemirnega Atlantika, prekolesariti 180km, z 2600 metrov višinske razlike in preteči klasični maraton, je z 8.49,38 zmagal domači tekmovalec Eneko Llanos Bruguera, pred Luc van Lierdejem (BEL) in Stephanom Vuckovicem (NEM). Pri dekletih je zmagala Tiina Boman (FIN). Odlično so nastopili tudi Slovenci in sicer sta kvalifikacijsko normo za havajsko svetovno prvenstvo izpolnila Ribničan Franci Šilc (25-29 let) in Kamničan Matic Romšak (40-44 let).
Na tekmovanju serije IronMan na Kanarskih otokih, točno na otoku Lanzarote smo imeli Slovenci 5 svojih predstavnikov. To so bili Matic Romšak, Damjan Kromar, Franci Šilc, Branko Kodelja in Nino Cokan. Vsi razen Ninota so uspešno prestali preizkušnjo in dosegli dobre rezultate.

The motto says it all. "Normal limits do not apply."
It's hard to say what makes the Ironman Lanzarote course so tough. There's heat, high winds, and a challenging bike course that winds its way up and down two mountains.
A swim is a swim, and the 2-loop ocean swim is a great way to start the long day.
The bike course is where things get really tough for the roughly 700 competitors. By the time all is said and done, they will have climbed more than 2,600 meters (that's 9,000 feet!).
Oh, lest we forget, there is still the run. The out-and-back run course is relatively flat. What makes it so tough are the winds, and the heat ... and the fact that it's a marathon. |

Na IM Hawaii '07 sta se uvrstila Franci Šilc (25-29 let) in Matic Romšak (40-44 let).
